What is the Difference between Pneumatic Tire and Cushion Tire?

Among the most popular questions about this kind of equipment is knowing the distinction between pneumatic tire forklifts and cushion tire forklifts. Each type of tire is specially suited for various needs.

Pneumatic Tires have air in them, like vehicle tires. These tires are suitable for indoor use but they are most effective in outdoor "yard" applications and on gravel and uneven surfaces.

Cushion tires are made as a solid industrial tire that is used mainly for indoor applications. These tires can be utilized outdoors on just asphalt surfaces. If you do drive cushion tires outdoors, there is an option to get traction tires on the front of the machine. These are known as the drive tires. The back tires or the steer tires are specifically designed for steering. Traction tires situated on the forklift's back would simply wear out faster. Hence, if you do need to work outdoors, having the smooth tires on the back and traction on the front will be the most economical and safest way to operate.

What is the difference between Solid Pneumatic and Air Pneumatic tires?

It could be quite difficult when trying to determine the main difference between the two tire types. They would work well in both in gravel and asphalt conditions. The main distinction between the two tire types is solid pneumatics are made of solid rubber. This means you cannot puncture, pop or gouge them since they are durable. These tires are more costly compared to air pneumatic tires since they are made up of way more rubber. These kinds of tires are best suited for places such as scrap yards and lumber yards where there might be a lot of debris or sharp things on the ground.

The pneumatic tire could be punctured accidentally. You can get flat tires from them when this happens. Before operating a forklift with air pneumatic tires, be sure that the yard is free of sharp metals, nails and scrap debris and by inspecting your work space. In most applications, standard air pneumatic tires work really great.
